My ethos to childcare is to be calm, flexible, fun, proffesional and approachable.  This way children and parents working with me feel at ease and are happy.

I provide structured and unstructured activities which allows the children’s development to progress in all areas of learning.  I endorse positive discipline as a more effective way of setting boundaries for children and I am very consistent so the children know and feel secure in the boundaries that I set.

Working towards & implementing the early years foundation stage…..

This framework sets out the standards for the learning, development and care of children, from birth to the end of foundation stage (31st August after the childs 5th birthday).

Everything i do here in my setting, is in line with the current EYFS framework and I will ensure  I maintain high standards in all aspects of the four themes of EYFS:

With 11 years of experience within a school setting as a Teaching assistant I have gained a large amount of knowledge and skills. Whilst there I:

•  managed a ‘Pathways 2 Nursery group’ with another member of staff. ( 0-3 yrs)
• Worked within the nursery setting (3-4 yrs)
• worked in a vertical grouped class within the infants (4-7 yrs)
• Worked with children with special needs ( Downs syndrome, Cerabral palsy, Autism, Spina bifada, global delay)
• I planned and set up activities in a ‘central area’ within the infants supporting the childrens ‘foundation stage’.
• I arranged a transition meeting for those parents, whos children were moving from nursery to infants and delivered appropriate information.

I continue to undertake training to keep myself up to date, increase my knowledge and to further my development.  Ongoing personal developement is important in order to enable me to give the best possible care for your children.
